Recent Events of the Temple

  • 2007

  • Vinayaka Chathurthi (September 9 to 15) 1,008 coconuts Ashtadravia Mahaganapathi Homam, Sahasrakalasabhishekam, Gajapooja, Maha prasadamoottu were the main programmes.
    The yearly Ganesha Sangeetholsavams held during the Mandalam Makaravilakku season.

  • 2006

  • Sreemad Bhagavatha Parishath - For this 11 days yajna the main idol brought from Sri Sidhi Vinayaka Temple in Kasaragod, in addition to the 108 idols brought from various other temples. This is for the first time in five years that Bhagavatha Acharya Malliyoor Sankaran Namboodiri is participating in a Bhagavatha yajnom. His son Parameswaran Namboodiri and noted yajna acharyas from all over India are participating in the Parishad, which coincides with the Sathabhishekom celebrations of Malliyoor Sankaran Nambodiri. His birthday falls on January 27.

  • Maha Samrajya Pattabhishekam: - The 9 days Yajnom denotes the simultaneous rendering and explanation of Vathmeeki Ramayana by 125 yajnacharyas. The yajnom is being held as part of the `Sathabhishekom' of the Bhagavathom exponent, Malliyoor Sankaran Namboodirippad.

  • Ekonasathakruthu - The Yajnom denotes the simultaneous rendering and explanation of Sreemad Bhagavathom by 100 yajnacharyas.

  • Vinayaka Chathurthi and the yearly Ganesha Sangeetholsavams held during the Mandalam Makaravilakku season (mid November to mid-January). 1,008 coconuts Ashtadravia Mahaganapathi Homam, Sahasrakalasabhishekam, Gajapooja, were the main programmes of Vinayaka Chathurthi.

  • Vinayaka Chathurthi and and the yearly Ganesha Sangeetholsavams held during the Mandalam Makaravilakku season.

  • The Malliyoor Temple shot into fame when it hosted the 18th Sreemad Bhagavada sathram in January 2001, where scholars of nationwide repute coverged to delineate the various aspects of the holy Bhagavatham.
